Notes on accommodation
The largest bedrooms in the main house have French windows that open out directly onto the sun terrace, just perfect for breakfast.
The house has just been completely remodelled and refurnished to a high standard combining the traditional and modern. In the winter months the part central heating is supplemented by the log burners and one of the large bedrooms becomes a dining room reducing winter capacity to 5 bedrooms. The garden has palms and pine trees, surrounded by raised beds of flowers and being mostly flat is wheelchair friendly. There is a Well covered by a grill, and a Moorish style water feature (2009). The pool can be reached by a gentle ramp, at present we do not have a hoist but we hope to have one installed by Summer. The pool area also has a gate and is lockable, it’s 2m at its deepest. Due to its depth and the infinity end, the pool is not suitable for children unless they are supervised by parents. A small inflatable pool can be made available on request.
The main house, gardens and facilities have been made as wheelchair friendly as possible, the house being single storey. The wet room, bedrooms garden and pool are all accessible by chair and other aids can be made available on request. We are Carers with over 15 years of experience and Supported Holiday in Spain are available by request for anyone who wishes to travel but who would need a helping hand, for whatever reason or disability. Please contact us for further details and rates.
During the Summer months most of your time will be spent outdoors, either by the pool, lounging in the welcome shade of the Verandah or down on the extensive sun deck or perhaps biking or walking in the surrounding Countryside, the local landowners are very friendly. Sunloungers and recliners abound, and cane and whicker chairs that can be used outside are to be found all over the house. The large dining table can seat 12 and in Summer its set on the veranda with smaller tables by the pool. The pool area also has a large sunbathing area that cannot be viewed from the garden, perfect for anyone wanting that all over tan, remember there are no laws on public nudity in Spain.
Below the pool, the decked sun-terrace also has recliners and features a complete covered summer kitchen with fridge, hob, sink & a separate BBQ area. You don’t have far to go for that cold drink, a basket on a rope means you can easily hoist cool drinks and snacks straight to poolside!
Valencia has soft sandy beaches that are perfect for swimming from. It has miles of promenade with many speciality restaurants serving fresh seafood and Piella, not as commercialised as the other Costas.
Cullera a little way down the coast is a popular vibrant Spanish resort but a little nearer, this side of the lighthouse is a very attractive beach that gently shelves out for many feet. Cullera also has a naturist beach and behind that is the lake of Albufera where rice’s grown.
