We offer a range of cycling holidays in the Algarve that cater for a variety of tastes. Whether you are looking for a gentle pedal along the coast, or a more challenging off road experience, we can plan a route for you that will expose you to many of the hidden gems that this fabulous region has to offer.

We have a large selection of bikes available, including e-bikes, touring bikes, road bikes mountain bikes.  There is pretty much something for everyone, whatever type of biking you enjoy. Here are a few of the many different types of cycling holidays on offer.

One centre

This is a cycling holiday which you can tailor to your needs. Based in quality hotel or self-catering accommodation in the Central Algarve, we give you a number of options of half day guided/self-guided tours along the stunning coastline and through the unspoilt Algarvian countryside, mainly on quiet tarmac roads and dirt tracks.

 

Day 1 Arrival at your accommodation for the week

Upon your arrival in the Algarve, we will collect you, equip you with your bikes and take you to your choice of accommodation. This can be anything from a peaceful, self-catering cottage just outside Loule, to a five star hotel in Quinta do Lago. You tell us your preference and we will organise the rest.

Day 2 Guided Tour – Ria Formosa

From the luxury and glamour that is Quinta do Lago to the salt flats and the local charm of the Praia do Faro, this is a gentle introduction to your cycling holiday in the Algarve. Your guide will transfer you to the start of the ride, which takes you through the Ria Formosa, a UNESCO heritage site, home to an abundant array of plants and wildlife. Cycling through pine woodland, surrounded by freshwater lakes and salt marshes, with views across the lagoon to the Atlantic Ocean, we make our way to Praia de Faro (Faro Beach). This is a 3 to 4 hour tour.

Day 3 Self-guided tour/Rest Day

We have a number of options for self-guided tours which can be tailored to your needs. They range from easy to challenging and can take in some of the fabulous coastal routes or transport you inland to the rural countryside, where time seems to have stood still. We provide you with maps/GPS and detailed route notes. Alternatively you can use this day to explore some of the many sights around the Algarve. Or, for an additional cost, we can arrange an extra guided tour.

Day 4 Guided tour – Eastern Algarve

This tour is designed to show you the ‘real’, unspoilt Eastern Algarve. Starting in the quaint town of Moncarapacho, with cobbled streets and traditional houses, we head East along quiet, largely traffic free roads and dirt tracks. We pass though orange groves, sleepy Algarvean villages and scenic countryside before arriving in Tavira, one of the prettiest towns on the Algarve coast. We make our way back through the Ria Formosa, passing through Santa Luzia, famous for Octopus fishing. This is a 3 to 4 hour tour.

Day 5 Self-guided tour/Rest Day

We have a number of options for self-guided tours which can be tailored to your needs. They range from easy to challenging and can take in some of the fabulous coastal routes or transport you inland to the rural countryside, where time seems to have stood still. We provide you with maps/GPS and detailed route notes. Alternatively you can use this day to explore some of the many sights around the Algarve. Or, for an additional cost, we can arrange an extra guided tour.

Day 6 Guided tour – Alcantarilha to Silves

Starting in Alcantarilha, a small village of Moorish origin, we are soon onto quiet dirt tracks cycling past vineyards and orange groves and down towards the Rio Arade. The area north of the river is traditional Algarve countryside at its unspoilt best. You will spot traditional stone walls and the odd derelict farm along the way. We cut across country using a network of irrigation channels before arriving in Silves, once the Moorish capital. We cycle along the river and past rice fields back to our starting point. This tour lasts around 4 hours.

Day 7 Self-guided tour/Rest Day

We have a number of options for self-guided tours which can be tailored to your needs. They range from easy to challenging and can take in some of the fabulous coastal routes or transport you inland to the rural countryside, where time seems to have stood still. We provide you with maps/GPS and detailed route notes. Alternatively you can use this day to explore some of the many sights around the Algarve. Or, for an additional cost, we can arrange an extra guided tour.

Day 8 Departure

We will transfer you from your accommodation for your journey home.
