Newly Renovated Farmhouse in quiet rural setting
Sleeps 6, 2 bedrooms. Price From €390 Per Week
This 19th century farmhouse has been lovingly restored retaining as much as possible of its original features whilst aiming to provide spacious comfortable accommodation. It has 3 bedrooms all on the first floor. The ground floor comprises of a huge sitting room of over 32 sq m with large log burner for those winter’s evenings and a large kitchen breakfast room with a stone floor and large inglenook fireplace. There is a big HDTV in the sitting room with a UK FREESAT system and a DVD player.
The main bedroom has a king-sized bed and ensuite facilities and there is also a shower room/WC on the ground floor.
The house has its own small private sunny garden with terrace but the property has extensive well tended grounds that you can use.
Well behaved dogs are accepted but you need to be aware that we keep sheep and so your dog will need to be kept under control at all times. The cottage garden is fenced and secure for children.
Classic car enthusiasts and motorcyclists are especially welcome and we have extensive workshop facilities, trailer parking space if required and secure covered parking for bikes.
We do not have a pool, but less than 10 mins away is a beautiful man made lake with a beach and lifeguard as well as a really nice restaurant complex, tennis courts, and keep fit circuit. This is very popular with visitors.
Nearest Town: Masseret – 4kms (approx).
Nearest Airport: Limoges & Brive-Dordogne – More than 30kms (approx).
We are based in the charming rural department of Correze in the Limousin region of France.
The Limousin is unlike most of France as it is hilly but not mountainous and very
green and lush. The local landscape is mostly pasture and woodland, not unlike the Welsh Marches area of the UK around Herefordshire and Shropshire but with much less people and much better weather.
For people who like getting away from it all and enjoy beautiful unspoiled countryside then visiting Correze is for you. If you are a bike or car enthusiast then you will enjoy the deserted well surfaced roads that proliferate here. Thanks to the motorway which looks after the through traffic the local roads are virtually empty which makes it a paradise for any driving or riding enthusiast.
We are building up a selection of GPS or map based tours to help you explore the deserted roads and stunning local countryside. There is much to explore, for example, Romanesque churches, the Pilgrim Route to Santiago de Compostella, the local sites connected with the life and death of Richard the Lionheart and sites connected with famous and tragic events relating to the activities of The Resistance in WW2.
The owners live next door and offer further B&B accommodation in the main farmhouse and so are on hand to ensure that you can make the, most of your stay.
There is Wi-Fi in the house connected to the system in the main house. Please note however that being in rural France the connection is not great and although fine for keeping in touch is not up to streaming.
Towels and linen are provided. The house is very well insulated and has double glazing so is comfortable and cosy and so possible to use in Winter. A small charge will be made for firewood if required.
