The detached cottage lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty, an idyllic and peaceful haven, with numerous footpaths and bridleways accessed direct from the door. Moorland walks and the coastal paths of the rugged North Devon coast are just a short drive away, as is the Blue Anchor Beach at Dunster or the sandy beaches at Minehead which also offers many attractions for our younger visitors.
There are many places of interest within easy reach, some of the most popular being Dunster Castle, Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon (the highest point on Exmoor) Wimball Lake where sailing, canoeing and angling are available, and the West Somerset Railway. There are also the pretty villages of Pcrlock, Dulverton, Lynton and Lynmouth which are all worth a visit.
There is a local pub offering real ales and home-cooked food in the nearby village of Bridgetown (approximately 1 mile) which is also home to one of the country’s most picturesque cricket grounds, accessible by footbridge over the River Exe, with a thatched pavillion so unique that it gains mention in the Book of Pavillions by Jonathan Rice. The nearest shop, post office and garage are approximately 2 miles away.

The cottage is spotless but because we like our guests to relax and feel at home, it has a ‘lived in’ feel. When you’re on holiday, the last thing we want is for you to be on edge in case a child spills a drink or your dog rushes through the house with wet feet and for this reason, if you are looking for prestige, 5-star luxury accommodation, then this is probably not the place for you!
