Traditional fisherman’s cottage in the centre of St Mawes

2 double bedrooms (1 twin and 1 double) 1 single bed. Suitable for up to 5 people. Dining room, sitting room with electric stove, 1 bathroom with bath and overhear shower.

Not very suitable for very elderly or partially disabled, as there is a steep incline to get to the shops.

Quietly located in the centre of St Mawes, up some steps behind the Victory Inn, Rosslyn Cottage is a traditional thick cob walled fisherman’s cottage overlooking the village towards Summers Beach. To reach the cottage from the bottom of the village, there is either a combination of 28 steps with some short inclines (all with handle rail) or a short but steep hill. A wonderful house, full of character and comfortably furnished, Rosslyn is in an absolutely ideal spot in St Mawes.

If you are looking for a traditional cottage in St Mawes then Rosslyn Cottage is definitely for you. The three bedrooms each have partial views of St Mawes Bay and there are pretty gardens both front and rear with a south facing patio providing a superb place for summer barbecues.




Ground Floor

Entrance hall leading to the comfortable lounge with its beamed ceiling. The kitchen is in a bright rear extension and is fully fitted with a range of units. The dining room also with a beamed ceiling leads off the kitchen. The bathroom with its pine fittings is to the rear and has a wall mounted shower over the bath & WC.


First Floor

A good sized double bedroom with sea views over the front garden. A twin bedded room has lovely views towards Summers Beach and there is a very small single bedroom with a narrow 2’6” bed and drawers underneath.




Enclosed patio area with bench, table, chairs, BBQ and grassed lawn to front.

There are pretty gardens both front and rear.


Facilities and Services


Heating is via storage heaters in the lounge & dining room with freestanding electric radiators in the bedrooms. The kitchen has an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer and dishwasher. An extra child can be accommodated on a fold out bed if required. Wi-Fi is available. There is a flat screen TV, DVD player and CD player/radio. There is a cot, highchair, iron & ironing board available at the property.




St Mawes is simply an idyllic spot for a holiday. It is perfect for those who want to get out on the water or explore the stunning coastline or the Roseland Peninsula. There are two shingle beaches in St Mawes or some lovely sandy beaches on the St Anthony headland. Staying in St Mawes you would not need your car all week. Everything is within walking distance and the passenger ferries provide regular services around the estuary from the delightful harbour.

Electricity, heating & bed linen are all included but you will need to provide your own towels & tea towels. A payphone is provided. We regret that dogs are not permitted. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. There is a cot & highchair available upon request. There are local shops, pubs and restaurants in St Mawes. Car parking is available in the main St Mawes car park about 5 mins walk away. You can stop to load immediately outside the property.

Weekly bookings range in price from £489 to £1,429.

Short breaks of minimum 4 days are available out of season. Prices on request.

£200.00 security deposit is required on confirmation.

Discounts available for couples staying for 7 nights outside the peak season, using one room only.
