Part of Old Barn Cottages Lincolnshire
Sleeps 5-7, 3 bedrooms. Price From £300 Per Week
These cosy, pet-friendly holiday cottages have been created through the sympathetic conversion of a red-brick Georgian barn. Located on the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, they are an ideal “away from it all” escape to a quiet corner of rural England. For those seeking peace and seclusion it would be hard to find a pleasanter spot. On the other hand, first-time visitors will be agreeably surprised at how much there is to do and see in Lincolnshire and its neighbouring counties.
Open plan lounge with dining and kitchen area; shower room with toilet and basin; three bedrooms – one double, one twin (located in upstairs gallery area) and one single. A convertible double sofa bed is located in the living room.
A variety of period features give individual charm and character to each cottage. Top quality linen and towels are provided free of charge. All have adjustable central heating, colour TV sets, video recorders, micro hi-fi systems and radio clocks in the bedrooms. Nightowl27
A separate utility room is equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. The country-style dining kitchens offer a warmly inviting atmosphere. Equipped to a high standard, they include such useful “extras” as microwaves, food processors and filter coffee machines.
Adjustable reading lamps are among the thoughtful touches that characterise all bedrooms. Top quality linen and towels are provided free of charge. Located in the utility/games room (to which all guests have a key) is a wide selection of indoor and outdoor games, VHS videos, CDs, books, magazines, etc.
Each cottage has its own colourful patio garden with panoramic views of rolling meadows and woodland. Within the grounds are a croquet lawn, delightful picnic and barbecue areas and a nature trail through private woods.
Ample off-road parking is available.
Old Barn Cottages are located in Great Sturton, a tiny hamlet on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds – a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This part of the country is still one of the quietest and least-spoiled parts of rural England. The cottages are not far from Horncastle (five miles) – a picturesque Georgian market town famed as the antiques centre of Lincolnshire.
Old Barn Cottages offer an ideal base from which to visit picturesque villages and unspoilt countryside. Quiet country roads across the Wolds lead to the Lincolnshire coast with its wide, safe, sandy beaches and such popular resorts as Mablethorpe and Skegness. Historic Lincoln City (15 miles) is also easy to get to – the hilltop cathedral is clearly visible from the cottages. Other nearby attractions include the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby, numerous stately homes, country parks and wild-life sanctuaries.
Lincolnshire is less than two hours by road and rail from London.
